1901 Inc began in 1901 as W.J. Hyland, a small plumbing and pipe fitting business located in Madison, Wisconsin.In over 110 years, the company has expanded to include commercial, industrial, institutional, and residential mechanical contracting. 1901 Inc employs 155 people; 125 in the field, and 30 as office staff. Of $25 - 35 million in annual sales volume, 90% is mechanical, and 10% is plumbing. 1901 Inc is a union contractor, with ongoing labor agreements with the Steamfitters, Plumbers, and Sheetmetal workers.
