The Chelan County Public Utility District is located in north central Washington State. It is owned by its customers and governed by a Board of Commissioners elected by the customers. The local customer-owners of the PUD receive dividends in the form of reduced rates for service. The Chelan County PUD owns and operates the United States second largest non-federal, publicly owned hydro-generating system. Two of its hydro projects, Rocky Reach and Rock Island, are part of an 11-dam system on the Columbia River.
