Salt Lake CAP Head Start is a childhood development program that serves low-income children with ages 3 to 5 and their families. Head Start is a federal program that is operated by local nonprofit organizations, such as Salt Lake Community Action Program. It organizes a variety of educational activities, including literacy, language and science. The program also provides medical and dental services. Salt Lake CAP Head Start serves more than 2,000 children and families in Salt Lake and Tooele counties in Utah. It also orgainzes various training programs in the areas of child rearing, job coaching, and health and nutrition management. Salt Lake CAP Head Start maintains a location in Salt Lake City.
