Shelbyville Power, Water, and Sewerage System provides services to more than 9,000 power accounts, 8,500 water accounts, and 7,500 sewerage system accounts. It operates Shelbyville Power System, which was established in 1939 and provides approximately 4,500 distribution transformers. It is licensed by the Tennessee Valley Authority to operate two substations with over 170 Megavolt Ampere capacities. Its Shelbyville Water System has several storage tanks and operates a plant that treats water from the Duck River.
