Established in 1994, The South Carolina Department of Natural Resources is responsible for the protection and management of natural resources. It also ensures the safety and well-being of the public in use and enjoyment of the state s natural resources. Additionally, the department is responsible for hosting and managing hunting, fishing, boating and various other natural resources-related activities for the people of South Carolina. It offers a variety of programs, including youth deer hunts, oyster shell recycling, oystercatcher conservation, animal conservation education, flood mitigation and marine game fish tagging programs. The department is located in Bonneau, S.C.
