Northwest Medical Teams International, established in 1979, provides medical assistance and health care services to victims of natural disasters, conflicts, poverty, diseases and injuries throughout the United States, Asia, Africa and Europe. The services offered by the organization include diagnosis and treatment of acute and chronic medical illnesses, ambulatory surgical care, pediatrics and obstetrics services, and gynecology care. It also undertakes community health services and development programs, and provides medical training. The organization provides education, training and medical intervention in the prevention and treatment of HIV and AIDS. Northwest Medical Teams International is located in Portland, Ore.
