PACER Center offers a wide range of social and welfare services to children and adults with physical and mental disabilities. Founded in 1977, PACER Center was created by parents of children and youth with disabilities to assist other families facing similar challenges. It is staffed primarily by parents of children with disabilities and works in coalition with more than 15 organizations throughout the United States. The center organizes a variety of projects, such as Baby Welcome, early childhood intervention, surrogate parents services and the American Indian Project.
