He pursued his career by enrolling in the Architecture program at the University of Minnesota and paid for his education by remodeling houses in his spare time. After he graduated in the mid 70's, he bought old apartment buildings and hotels and redesigned, gutted, and renovated them as condominiums. He had great success as a condo developer until the market dried up in the mid 80s. He then turned back to residential remodeling and established Orfield Remodeling, Inc Over the years, Orfield Remodeling, Inc has earned an excellent reputation around the Twin Cities.
