Kiwanis International, founded in 1915, is a nonprofit service organization that undertakes community outreach programs and supports children and adults suffering from substance abuse, pediatric trauma and emotional problems. It provides educational programs on childcare, early development, infant health, nutrition and parenting skills. The additional services offered by the organization include promoting literacy, supporting youth sports and recreation and offering community-based services. It also undertakes various programs in schools and colleges for development of leadership skills in students.
