Protein Technologies was founded in 1985 by researchers affiliated with the University of Arizona. In 1990, the company launched its first peptide synthesizer, the PS3. After introducing the PS3, a need for simultaneous bioorganic synthesis was met by the company s Symphony and Symphony Quartet organic phase synthesizers. Further identifying a need for large-scale organic synthesis of peptides, the Sonata was developed and marketed to allow users a choice for their large-scale syntheses. Protein Technologies is located in Tucson, Ariz.
