Valley of the Sun School and Habilitation Center, located in Phoenix, is a nonprofit, private organization governed by a volunteer board of directors. A staff of more than 350 employees delivers services to over 400 individuals with developmental disabilities ranging in age from 15 to 85. The institution provides day treatment, residential and vocational services. The day treatment program is designed to enhance existing independent living skills, communication, academics, interpersonal relationships, community awareness and vocational readiness. Residential services are offered from more than 20 group homes that are located in the metropolitan Phoenix area. Many of the homes are designed to accommodate the needs of those with physical challenge
