About CFB In January of 2005, a new and vital organization serving the city of Birmingham was born. The Community Furniture Bank is a non-profit organization that specializes in the pickup, storage, and delivery of donated furniture, appliances, and other household goods. Word of mouth soon produced a steady supply of donated items into the original 200-square-foot mini-warehouse. This space was rapidly outgrown and in June of 2005 the storage capacity was doubled. In December 2005, an early goal was realized with the acquisition of a 3, 750-square-foot bay in the Distribution Center in Homewood, Alabam
